God, Are You Listening?

In honor of yesterday's post, I ran across this old story my Dad sent me a long time ago in honor of my life... seemed so apropos. Enjoy.

God, Are You Listening?

A woman was walking through a forest pondering life. She walked, pondered, walked, and pondered. She felt very close to nature and even close to God. She felt so close to God that she felt if she spoke God would listen. So she asked, "God, are you listening?"

And God replied, "Yes my dear, I am here."

The woman was amazed, stopped and pondered some more. She looked towards the sky and said, "God, what is a million years to you?"

God replied, "Well my dear... , one second to me is like millions of years to you."

So the woman continued to walk and to ponder... walk and ponder...Then she looked to the sky again and said, "God, what is a million dollars to you?"

And God replied, "My dear... a penny to me is like millions of dollars to you. It means almost nothing to me. It does not even have a value it is so little."

The woman looked down, pondered a bit and then looked up to the sky and asked, "God, can I have a million dollars?"

And God replied, "Yes, my dear, in just one second."
